Preventative Measures
To help prevent injuries there are a few basic principles.
Warm Up:
The number one principle of injury prevention. A warm up should consist of two to five minutes of low-level activity.
Stay Hydrated:
You should drink plenty of water before, during and after exercise, especially in warm weather.
Don’t Overdo it:
Start out slowly and build up gradually in intensity and duration of activity.
Be Prepared:
Use the proper equipment and technique for each sport, whether it's a good pair of running shoes, or knee pads for volleyball. Be sure your sports equipment in good condition.
